This is a logo for Universal One, a Japanese company. Part educator, composer, conductor, and designer, Uichi Kajiyama does it all. When he approached me about this project he carefully explained the English translation of his name “Uichi” which is Universal One. It was equally important and fascinating to consider cultural differences as well as ceremonial business practices when working out this design. Elements of of language and general eye flow around information are completely different between Eastern and Wester cultures.
